Full 6 years of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana

Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modiji, launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana on 15th August, 2014. One of the biggest schemes launched by the Modi government is the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. Which has now completed 6 years. On completion of six years, the hon. The scheme will provide benefits to poor citizens of all rural and urban areas of the country. Under this scheme, the eligible beneficiary dies for some reason after opening the account. So, additional insurance cover of ₹30000 will be provided by the Central Government to the family of the beneficiary. Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana 2020 is also known as Jan Dhan Account. Poor people can open their accounts very easily under this scheme. No money will be required to open an account. Nor will there be any difficulty in opening an account now. The citizens of the country will be able to get financial services easily through this scheme.

Amount sent to Jan Dhan Yojana

Due to lockdown due to coronavirus epidemic in the country, an amount of Rs.₹500 is now being transferred by the Government to the Jan Dhan account of women from poor families. 1.20 lakh crore has been deposited in the accounts of poor women of the country till 1st April, 2020 under the scheme. But now, as per the official data received, the amount deposited in the accounts opened under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana has increased to Rs 1.28 crore on 8th April, 2020. 127748.43 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of 38.12 crore women till 8th April. Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana launched by the Central Government, 9.86 crore Women Jan Dhan Accounts have been transferred to the bank account of Dharko ₹99.30 crore.


What is the objective of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana 2020?

Under pradhan mantri jan dhan yojana, the economically poor people of the country, backward classes are being facilitated to open bank accounts on zero balance. And, they will also be provided with transfer facility insurance and pension facilities to avail based loans. Through Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana 2020, financial services like banking/savings deposit account, observation, insurance pension etc.

Micro Insurance Facility:

At the same time, all BSBD account holders will also be eligible for micro insurance. Two insurance schemes have been formulated for this purpose.


Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Bima Yojana (PMJBY):

Under this, life insurance cover upto ₹200000 will be provided to the beneficiaries. And, to get this cover, they have to pay only a premium of ₹330 per annum.


Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY):

Under this insurance scheme, you will be provided with contingency cover of ₹200000. For this, you have to pay only ₹12 premiumevery year.
